Lidl’s Spring Wine Tour
German-owned Lidl’s catchphrase is ‘Big on Quality, Lidl on price’, which doesn’t just apply to fresh produce. In fact, the only thing you will find in my trolley when shopping in Lidl is wine, and I have brought some superb bottles during their six times yearly Wine Tour Collection. The latest theme is Spring Wine, it launched on the 16th of March, 2023, and I picked up some exquisite wines that will be sure to sell out.
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo — £8.99
This easy-drinking red from Puglia, Italy, has dark fruit, dried cherry and coffee notes. After a long work week, I pop a lasagne in the oven, put my comfies on and celebrate the start of the weekend with this Italian beauty.
Vacqueyras — £12.99
Named after one of the top wine-producing villages in Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras is a bold, full-bodied red wine. If you like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, then this bottle won’t disappoint.
